FRIDAY, August 29

Jazz in the Garden 5-8:30 p.m. National Gallery of Art. Washington, DC. This free concert series takes place at the NGA Sculpture Garden. They offer a special menu for the evening which offers grilled chicken kebabs, pulled pork sandwiches, sangria and more.

MJ Day 2014 9 p.m. 9:30 Club. Washington, DC. Join DJ Dredd in commemorating Michael Jackson by jamming out to his music all night long at the 5th Annual Michael Jackson Dance Party. Tickets are $15 and available online.

SATURDAY, August 30

DC Blues Festival 1-7 p.m. Carter Barron Amphitheater. Washington, DC. This free annual festival features live blues by outstanding local and national acts.

The Smokeout BBQ 3 PM- 12 AM. BBQ, Hookah, and networking at Sargent Street Mansion. $15 early bird tickets available.

SUNDAY, August 31

Movies on the Potomac 6 p.m. Washington, DC. Have a relaxing Sunday evening by the water at the National Harbor. The Plaza will be screening 1967 James Bond flick “You Only Live Twice” at 6 p.m.

Adult Swim Labor Day Weekend Pool Party 11a.m.- 6p.m. Capitol Skyline Hotel. Washington, DC. Spend the day at the Capitol Skyline Hotel rooftop pool for music, drinks and poolside fun, hosted by Brody Jenner and William Lifestyle.

Labor Day Weekend Party with DJ Lightwaves 8 p.m. Rock & Roll Hotel. Washington, DC. Free admission for Labor Day party with dance music from DJ Lightwaves. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Rock & Roll Hotel: Movies on the Roof Rock & Roll Hotel. Washington, DC. Catch Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters for free on the roof of the Rock & Roll Hotel, starting at sundown. Drink specials and free popcorn are offered.

White Hot End of Summer Jam 10 p.m. 9:30 Club. Washington, DC. Check out Backyard Band, The Kingz, and New Impressions. Tickets are $40.

Labor Day Capitol Concert 2014 8 p.m. US Capitol Building. Washington, DC. Celebrate Labor Day with the National Symphony Orchestra on the West Lawn of the US Capitol. Performances by Nicole Parker and Christopher Johnstone make this event one you won’t want to miss.

MONDAY, September 1

Flo Fest DC 10 a.m. Gateway DC at St. Elizabeths East. Food, wine and music featuring performances by jazz musician Marcus Johnson, Sylver Logan Sharp, Celebrity Chef Huda and more. Doors open at 10 a.m., activities and performances begin at noon.

ALL WEEKEND

National Hard Crab Derby 
August 28-31, 2014. Crisfield, Maryland. This unique event attracts a crowd from the across the region to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Enjoy crab races and contests, carnival rides, crafts, live entertainment, beauty pageants, parade, and fireworks.

Greenbelt Labor Day Festival August 29-September 1, 2014. Greenbelt, Maryland. Head to the Roosevelt Center for live entertainment, amusement rides, art exhibits and a Labor Day parade. Admission is free.
